One activity that I love doing is taking children to local farms. For children that live in the city it's usually the first time they have seen cows, pigs, chickens alive and running around.
Many states have wonderful farming facilities that your children can enjoy. If you live in Utah you might enjoy taking them to Wheeler Historic Farm (wheelerfarm.com) or Thanksgiving Point (thanksgivingpoint.com)
These are great places to run around, take tractor rides, venture into barns, feed the animals and experience nature.
